Mahalo to all the divers who participated in the AHK Fund$ Dive on September 28th! The objective of this dive was to shoot fish and fundraise for the Annual AHK Christmas Party in October! Poor weather conditions made it challenging (the report from all the divers was murky water everywhere!), but divers still came in with fish. Divers were allowed to use boats, kayaks, or swim from shore, and had to be at Frank’s house for the weigh-in by 1:30 p.m. Most divers elected to swim from shore, but a few kayaked. Scoring was based on points, and certain fish were worth more points per pound. The desired “food” fish (uhu, kumu, and pelagics) were valued at 10 points per pound. “Rubbish fish” were only ½ point per pound. Prizes were awarded to the top 3 veteran “uku” divers and the top 5 less experienced “uhu” divers. Congrats to the winners!
